How to Use this Airplane Size Comparison Generator

The tool is actually quite easy to use. You just need to choose an airplane from the dropdown list and add it to the chart for size comparison. With respect to removing any figure, you can achieve that under the ‘Remove’ tab.

Please note also you can modify the position of any figure on the chart by dragging.

It’s worth noting there is a maximum number of 5 figures that can be added to the chart. Of course, you can always remove existing figures if you reach the limit and want to add new ones.

In order to get the best visual results for comparing plane sizes, try to do the following:

  • When using a mobile device, make the view horizontal (i.e. landscape orientation)
  • Access the tool from a computer or large tablet if at all possible

The Airplanes that are Available Inside the Tool

The tool will allow you to compare the size of over 40 different airplane models.

The included planes are all commercial, for passengers, and still under use or production. They are manufactured by the following five companies: Airbus, Boeing, Comac, Embraer and United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).

While Boeing and Airbus dominate the industry for large commercial jets, other newer companies are currently making smaller-sized planes and planning to eventually get into the business of large-jet space (source).

The tool shows a top-view of the planes. This means that you can compare the length and width between the various plane models.

Please note almost all these planes have two jet engines, as already indicated in their image. The only ones that have four engines are Boeing 747-8, Ilyushin IL-96-300 and Ilyushin IL-96-400.

It’s also worth noting the data were retrieved from the website of Boeing, Airbus, UAC and Wikipedia.

Conclusion

Whatever airplanes you want to compare the size between, this accurate online tool will help you out. You just need to choose and add the desired plane models to the chart.

It’s worth mentioning the chart axis shows the length measurement in both metric (i.e. meters) and imperial units (i.e. feet). So, you won’t need to worry about unit conversion.
